Reservoir Dolls - 115; Unholy Rollers - 44
The Mad Rollin' Dolls intergalactic domination force
(Quad Squad), and crime syndicate (Reservoir Dolls) were packing
heat on a cold night at Fast Forward Skate Center on Saturday,
Feb. 3. With lasers set on stun and machine guns blasting,
they wiped out their challengers, the Vaudeville Vixens and
Unholy Rollers.
The 2006 Champion Quad Squad defense dominated the pack,
opening wormholes to propel their jammers into the lead and
creating black holes for Vixen jammers. Quad jammers Thunder
Kitten and Jenny Knoxville flew at warp speed through the
pack time and again. The Vixens, led by stellar performances
by Dolly Pardon Me, Darling Nikki and up-and-comer OctoPushy,
put up a valiant fight and had a fantastic second period,
but ended the battle with the loss.
With team captain and spark plug Jewels of DeNile sidelined
with a bum knee, the Unholy Rollers were wiped out by the
Res Dolls. The Unholies, in a rebuilding year, blocked hard
and often, keeping the referees busy sorting out the fair
blocks from the illegal ones. The Res Dolls' seamless
defensive strategies and
forceful whips turned the pack into Swiss cheese for the Mouse
and Carry A. Hacksaw. Despite great skating by jammers BackDoris
and Wildberry Punch, the Unholy Rollers just could not get
a break.
A sexy half-time performance by the El Genneyya Bellydancing
Troupe raised the heat. With bangles a-jingle and hips a-shimmy,
the dancers (including one who was topless — but hey,
it was a guy!) kept whooping fans at rink side.
Despite the bitter sub-zero weather, another record-breaking,
sell-out crowd jump-started cars to get to the bout. The Dolls
opened the doors early to save their loyal fans from hypothermia.
The next bout pits the Vixens against the Res Dolls and the
Quad Squad again the Unholy Rollers. Get your tickets early
for another night of speed and mayhem at Fast Forward. Tickets
