FEBRUARY 20, 2005: MAD ROLLIN' DOLLS FEBRUARY BOUT

Hundreds of fans braved the Wisconsin winter to see the Mad Rollin' Dolls lace up their skates for the second time this season. After a bare-knuckled bout to start things off in January, the Dolls were ready to roll again on February 20. The Psycho Kitties and Reservoir Dolls drew first blood - and more than a few penalties - in the first period. Bubba's babes jumped out to a big lead fast with Crackerjack, Mouse and Pocahotass burning up the track. A bench-clearing brawl and a few scuffles here and there were typical of the brutally intense first period. Big Diesel and Crackerjack were both threatened with ejection from the bout. In the second half, the Psycho Kitties turned their blockers loose and started knocking people around. Hell Kat and Frenchie led an aggressive attack for the crazy cats, but it was not enough to catch the mobsters. In the end, the Reservoir Dolls came out on top 100-46.

The Quad Squad and Unholy Rollers took the track next. The action-packed second period had the fans on their feet. The score was tight from the beginning and the lead went back and forth throughout the period. Jewels of Denile and Maverick helped the dolls of darkness take a 38-35 halftime lead. Yngrid Murdersteen, upset with the problems she had getting past the Quad Squad's wall of green asses, took her frustrations out on Lizzie Borden during the break. The fight provided some halftime entertainment, in addition to the performance by Funrod. The intensity doubled in the second half, with the score continuing to see-saw between the teams. Thunder Kitten and Jenny Knoxville gave the shooting stars a lead with just a few minutes left in the game. With everything on the line, both teams went all out to get the win. In the most exciting match of the season, the Unholy Rollers barely escaped with a 76-75 victory over the Quad Squad.

PROCEEDS

a portion of the proceeds from this bout went to Project Respect. Project Respect works to help get women out of sex work (stripping, escorting, prostitution, porn). It is not a religious based organization, but just a tiny agency that offers a full spectrum of services, counseling and referrals to women who have been involved in sex work. Sometimes the women have been arrested and are put in the program by court order, sometimes they refer themselves. AIDS Network works with them to help train some of the women to be HIV educators, and do HIV testing.
