FEBRUARY 11, 2006: MAD ROLLIN' DOLLS FEBRUARY BOUT

As February 11 dawned, Madison's derby world prepared for a night of grudge matches. The line-up for the evening was a replay of the 2005 season finals line-up, with the Vixens and the Unholy Rollers each looking for their first win of 2006, the Reservoir Dolls hoping to hang on to their still undefeated standing, and the Quad Squad looking to be the ones to upset last year's champions.

The Vaudeville Vixens came out strong in the night's first pairing, establishing an early lead over the Unholy Rollers who had beaten them to take third place last season. As the Vixens wore out & knocked down Unholy jammer Cha Ching, her fellow jammers Wildberry Punch & Jewels of Denile struggled to match the points being scored by Vixen jammers Dolly Pardon Me, Darling Nikki, & Chop Suzzy.

The Unholy Rollers reorganized during half-time & came out swinging for the third period, hoping to close the lead with an all-star line-up skating nearly every jam. Strong blocking by Peter Pannies slowed the Unholy jammers, but hope began to shine when she was called out for a two-minute major penalty, with only 2 minutes left on the clock and the Vixens ahead by just six points. Unfortunately for the Unholies, due to a miscommunication, Pannies was released after only 30 seconds, and she came out strong, never giving Jewels of Denile a chance. When the clock ran out, the Unholy Rollers protested the last jam, arguing that without Peter Pannies, the Vixens couldn't have stopped them from scoring. Much to the crowd's disappointment, the referees declined the appeal and let the final score stand at Vaudeville Vixens 43, Unholy Rollers 37.

In the second match-up of the night, the Reservoir Dolls were hoping to move to 8-0, while the Quad Squad looked to be the team to finally take down last season's undefeated champions. The Reservoir Dolls' Tatum Tantrum made a strong performance in her first bout of the season, while Crackerjack and Mouse skated up the point total as well. Quad Squad co-captain Stitch came on strong with 4 jammer take-downs, riling up an appreciative crowd. Captains Predator of the Quad Squad and Crackerjack of the Res Dolls seemed to be at each other all night and finally met in a midair mutual take-down in the fourth quarter. Res Doll Hacksaw carved up the superhero jammers, causing several pileups spreading into the second row of the audience. With many of the Res Dolls in the penalty box throughout the fourth quarter, the Quad Squad tried to take advantage, but couldn't dig out of their 1st half hole. Final Score: Reservoir Dolls 58, Quad Squad 41.
